Software Engineer Interview Experience - Houston, Texas

Process

I applied online. The process took 1 week.

I had an initial screening call with the recruiter that was just 15 mins. After that the next round was a tech screen followed by onsite.

For the tech screen, they gave me some buggy code and asked me to improve the implementation. It was pretty easy. You had to use interfaces and define classes to make it into cleaner code. Name variables properly, use getters/setters, null checks, straightforward stuff.

Interview went really well, I had 2 interviewers who both said it went well and didn't have any feedback when asked. Next day I received a rejection, lol. Couldn't understand what went wrong. Emailed the recruiter twice and got ghosted. Same recruiter who was really warm and responsive earlier didn't even acknowledge my email. Very poor experience because of this.
