I had a chat with the recruiter and was briefed about the team and product, etc.
The phone screen was a coding interview with one main question, followed by two follow-ups. I was able to solve the main question and the first follow-up. As I was running out of time for the second follow-up, I discussed the theoretical solution and was able to implement only half of it due to the limited time.
I was rejected without any feedback.
The rejection email was from an automated no-reply account, as the recruiter did not have the courtesy of replying using their own email.
I sent an email to the recruiter asking for some feedback, which went unanswered.
I think if they want to send auto-rejection emails, they should remove the recruiter from the initial call as well.
Companies like Google and Meta are able to call you and convey the negative news with some feedback for improvement, but some companies like Benchling can't even send a personal rejection email.
Hit an endpoint and parse the response.
Follow-ups on the same question on handling failures/retries, etc.
