Backend Developer Interview Experience - United States

January 1, 2022
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

Got into an initial interview call with a recruiter without setting a time beforehand and scheduled for the next day.

They skipped the specified call time the next day and apologized afterward, then scheduled for the next day.

The job was for a 7+ years Java Developer. When we got to the actual interview, the same recruiter called and started asking questions about React Native. After clarifying with her, she confirmed that this is a backend role and not mobile, and that it was a mistake. The call disconnected, then the actual Tech Recruiter called to restart interviewing me, only to tell me that this position is for an intermediate-level developer after hearing my salary expectation.
