I had an introduction to the role and a chat about what the AI Labs do and how they do it.
We moved on to questions. I had prepared quite a few, so I asked how much time there was. The interviewer seemed confident there would be enough time, so he gave no time limit.
There wasn't, and he had to cut me off.
Then we moved to the CV review. I asked if there were any details he wanted to focus on. He just asked about my current role.
I tried to delegate control to ensure the interviewer got what he wanted to know, but I felt he only did this when it was clear time was running out.
I was told I would be contacted in a few days. I followed up three times: once by email and twice by phone. I was totally ghosted, not even acknowledged.
I was expecting better from BlackRock. I can accept my CV wasn't quite in line with expectations, but there's no excuse for not responding. I feel that if that was the reason for rejection, I shouldn't have made it past the CV screening stage.
