Round 1: Resume and Background

This round is primarily about your resume and your background. The interviewer might ask you to walk through your resume, discussing your education, experiences, and any significant projects you’ve worked on.

Expect questions like:

• "Tell me about yourself."
• "Why did you choose this field?"
• "What motivated you to apply for this role at BlackRock?"

This round sets the stage for the following technical rounds by giving the interviewer insight into your background and interests.

Round 2: Basic Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) and Project Discussion

This round is more technical, focusing on your problem-solving abilities and understanding of fundamental data structures and algorithms.

For example, you might be asked to reverse a linked list. This tests your knowledge of linked lists, pointer manipulation, and understanding of iterative vs. recursive approaches.

The interviewer might dive deeper into the projects listed on your resume. Be prepared to explain the challenges you faced, the technologies you used, and your decisions during the project. They might also ask you to explain the architecture, specific code snippets, or how you handled particular problems.

HR Round: Cultural Fit

This round assesses your cultural fit within the company. The HR interviewer might ask about your career aspirations, work preferences, and how you handle teamwork and conflict.

Expect behavioral questions like:

• "Tell me about a time you faced a challenge at work."
• "How do you prioritize tasks when under pressure?"
• "Why do you want to work at BlackRock?"

This is also your opportunity to ask questions about the company, its culture, and the role you’re applying for.
