Process

The interview process was very well organized. The recruiter contacted me (perhaps because my profile was available online from a past role I applied for).

Phone Interview:

  • One DSA problem and some basic questions on Java, SQL, and Linux commands.

Virtual Onsite:

  • Two one-hour rounds, back-to-back. The first was with a hiring manager locally and a global manager remotely. The second was with a hiring manager locally and a client locally.
  • Both rounds were mainly behavioral, asking various scenario-based questions.

Offer: I received the offer within three weeks.

Acceptance: I declined the offer as the role seemed heavy on support, whereas I preferred more hands-on work.

My experience with BlackRock APAC HR was very positive, and they took extra effort to keep me engaged as a candidate throughout the process.

Questions

  1. DSA - Rotated Array question

  2. JAVA - mainly collections focused and their time complexity

  3. SQL - various joins, case statements

  4. Linux - find & ps commands
