Working as a technology associate for the last 3 years. Here are some pros:

• Compared to many other sell-side firms where technology is mismanaged, Blackrock does an amazing job in maintaining its technology stack. They are not afraid to explore new technologies, and employees are always encouraged to come up with new ideas and POCs (proofs of concept) to showcase the benefits of new technology.
• Most of the teams are made up of extremely smart people, and senior management does an amazing job in setting challenging goals.
• Benefits are competitive in the form of many medical insurance choices, 401k match, and an employee stock discount program.

Here are some cons:

1. Salaries are competitive, but for the amount of work being done currently, employees certainly deserve more.
2. Poor work-life balance.
3. Few buildings need to be renovated.

Keep up the good work, but also compensate your employees well. Otherwise, sooner or later, you risk brain drain.
