Pros
  • Good work-life balance in engineering.
  • Unlimited PTO, which is mostly respected in engineering teams.
Cons

Pay is embarrassingly low. Everyone knows it: HR, your colleagues, higher-ups.

It affects motivation everywhere. Why work hard if we're being massively underpaid?

Associate/VP engineers make LESS than new grads at tech companies. Imagine that!

Advice to Management

All these recent 5-star reviews are obviously written by HR. Super fake.

Advice: Stop focusing so much on PR initiatives to attract and retain talent. Literally just pay more.

Engineering total compensation figures for current/prospective employees make it out into the internet very easily and fast, and it is not making BlackRock look like a good place to work at, at all.
