iOS Engineer Interview Experience - Canada

Process

Very hands-on and related to the work you would do as an iOS Engineer. You need to make sure to know your basics well, writing code without asking for help or looking it up. They say you can Google or use Stack Overflow, but it feels like it's better to avoid it.

  1. Recruiter call. You will be given the option of a take-home or online coding challenge. I did the take-home one.

  2. Take-home assignment. You need to create an app that makes an API call and displays results, with some optimizations.

  3. Onsite:

    • One pair programming session to extend the data layer of your take-home assignment.
    • One pair programming session to extend the UI layer of your take-home assignment.
    • One system design session where you have to discuss something that you previously designed.
    • One behavioral interview.
    • Casual chat with the hiring manager. Supposed to be casual, but they are still assessing you. If anything, this is the most important one, since the hiring manager seems to have the final say.
