The interview process was pretty standard:
Given many negative reviews about the coding sessions, I chose the take-home project. It was not difficult or tricky; everything was straightforward and allowed me to present my best work.
On the other hand, the Q&A sessions were peculiar. While they all had different themes, many questions were repeated. It felt like the interviewers weren't coordinated and perhaps just Googled behavioral questions, selecting from the first page. Furthermore, I was asked to introduce myself repeatedly (six times) even though the subsequent questions were largely unrelated to my experience.
Recruiters were unresponsive when they promised a follow-up. Additionally, one recruiter sent an email to schedule a call for feedback after the virtual on-site. The call was scheduled for the next day and lasted only three minutes. I was told I didn't perform well in one of the sessions, and that was it. This feedback could have easily been delivered via email or a call on the same day. There was no need to schedule a formal meeting if the feedback couldn't be meaningful.
Overall, the on-site interviews left a negative impression. While many companies conduct interviews throughout the entire day, it seemed like this company simply copied the format without training their employees or preparing and dividing the interview areas and questions effectively. It's challenging to make an unbiased decision without structure and clear expectations. Not to mention, all eight interviewers were male, which raises questions about the diversity and inclusivity of the workspace.
