Software Engineer Interview Experience - United States

Process

They have a lot of internal divisions, and you can be bounced around before they send you to the right team.

I scheduled the initial two interviews and didn't get passed that.

The questions were generally easy, but I think the interviewers were touchy-feely, so it was really hard to tell what they were evaluating for. I felt they were pretty cocky too.

During the interview, I was told the hiring bar is incredibly high, and that's why working at Block is fantastic. However, the people I interviewed with didn't seem extraordinary.

Additionally, after the interview, I felt like asking one of the people who interviewed me: "Well, the hiring bar is so high here? So what are you doing working at Block? Do you consider yourself a superior human being?"
