I was contacted by the recruiter and was then passed on for a technical screen.
The interviewer was pleasant and asked me an impractical backtracking question. She was not even from the team I applied for. There is absolutely no way anyone could have come up with a solution for that without memorizing it off of LeetCode. I struggled for a bit and could not get the answer.
The next day, I received an update saying they have decided to move on with other candidates with experience that better aligns with their requirements.
At no point were the requirements communicated to me. At no point did the interviewer discuss my experience with me.
Perhaps the requirements are the ability to memorize trick questions from LeetCode so that a few people forced to interview can tick a few checkboxes.
What an utter waste of time.
