Pros: Ability to carve out your own career path by choosing which areas of the system to focus on building. TLs and Managers do not micromanage you. Lots of extracurricular activities, as well as communities to engage in.
Cons: Absence of distinctive titles such as L6, E7, and the like. This could be numbing for people who like to make sense of their career progression by climbing up a defined title ladder, especially ICs.
