Financial Software Developer Intern Interview Experience

April 1, 2013
Positive ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The interview focused mostly on data structures and the complexity of algorithms. I was asked to rate myself on a scale of 1-10 for C, C++, and Java.

Key topics covered included:

  • Post-order, pre-order, and in-order traversal of a tree.
  • How to implement a queue with stacks.
  • Complexities of search algorithms.
  • A situation was presented for which I had to design a class diagram (Bicycle rental company).

Questions

Design the class diagram for a bicycle rental company.

This was unexpected, but the difficult part is explaining the diagram over the phone.

Some information was lost, especially given the time constraints.
