The interviewer was welcoming and very knowledgeable. He presented me with a problem that his own team had been working on the year before. Without revealing anything about their own solution, he guided me through the development process and asked me questions about each roadblock.

Pros: Great benefits, lots of perks.
Cons: A very rigid environment, although highly depends on the department, group, team, and supervisor/team lead. There is nowhere to advance. Since the system is highly customized, it will take some years to learn and then one may advance to team lead. To become a manager takes longer, and mostly those positions are taken by people who have been with the company the longest. There is rarely team spirit, even though one is promoted. Each person is on his own. Bloomberg long ago became a big corporation in spirit, and it acts and feels like one.

Pros: Open door and transparent policy. Very intelligent and motivated people, with the ability to take ownership and be proactive. Awesome training program for fresh students. Very generous benefits, great snacks, and a nice working environment.
Cons: Very aggressive culture; it might take a while to get used to. It can be very busy sometimes, and overtime is expected.

Pros: Bloomberg is full of opportunities for people to learn about a variety of fields. The fact that Bloomberg's main business is finance allows you to learn about it, if you have an interest, which I found incredibly valuable. Also, given the many Bloomberg verticals, there are tons of opportunities for mobility within the company, which are also great learning opportunities.
Cons: Be sure to pick the right team. As in any big company, there are lots of good people, but there are also some teams which you want to avoid. Make sure to pick well.
