Process
I applied for a number of positions at the company via their website and received individual rejection emails for each, except for one. Subsequently, I was emailed for a phone interview, followed by an in-person interview. They flew me in for this interview, offering to cover round-trip airfare and a hotel room near their Manhattan office. The office building is quite impressive, and the company emphasizes its open corporate culture, with a remarkably small number of walls within the office space.

Pros: Great intern events throughout the summer, at least one per week. There is always something to do.
You're given your own project to work on and complete throughout the summer. When you're done, you get ample opportunities to show off what you've accomplished to upper management.
Everyone is willing to help or chat with you about their role or the company.
Lots of financial knowledge to gain, with provided classes in finance and tech.
Cons: The work isn't always super challenging or structured, which makes it hard to focus and be productive sometimes.
The tech can be a bit restrictive since it's almost all proprietary, but the people who literally built it are around and willing to help you leverage it the best you can.
Not a fan of the open floor plan.

Pros: Pays well,
Good work-life balance,
Fast-paced work,
everyone gets a lot of responsibility,
the ability to quickly see the impact of your work
Cons: Legacy software. It's tougher to look for a job elsewhere once you quit due to the extremely proprietary nature of technologies used. Some very smart people, but a lot of people who have been writing GUI code in Fortran too.

Opportunity to access the Bloomberg Terminal and also daily usage with it.
