Process

I applied online and waited for about two days, then received an email for a phone interview.

Phone Interview: The interview included some basic data structure questions and OOD questions. The last question was to find the two largest numbers in a given array. Afterward, I was invited to take an in-house interview in New York.

In-house Interview: This consisted of four rounds with seven interviewers.

First round: Three interviewers asked questions from my resume, followed by a basic algorithm problem and a system design problem.

Second round: Two interviewers focused entirely on algorithm problems. Nothing was particularly difficult except for one problem: "Find the longest palindrome in a given string in less than O(n*n) time." I struggled with this problem for a long time.

Third round: One senior manager asked behavioral questions and presented a system design problem. I believe I spent too much time optimizing the data structure, but I eventually realized that the interviewer did not require consideration of how the front-end system delivered data to users, assuming the server would handle all requests.

Fourth round: One HR representative asked questions about my resume and my interest in the position. I was very happy to reach this round, as information from this website suggested that about 90% of candidates who reached this stage received a job offer. I genuinely like Bloomberg and want to work there. Furthermore, all the interviewers were very nice, and I liked them. Therefore, I was shocked and very upset when I received the "Thank You" email today, three days after the in-house interview. I am still very sad.

I hope this experience is helpful.
