Pros: Excellent and comfortable office. Interesting job and coworkers. Good pay for an internship.

Cons: The hours are long and generally inflexible, with an 8 AM to 6 PM working day (long compared to other software internships).

Cons: Bloomberg is a very diverse organization with a very loosely defined management structure, so pretty much everything differs among the various teams. I would say that I am lucky to be working in a team with whom I get along really well. My advice would be that you should choose your team carefully when joining Bloomberg.

Pros: Great benefits, lots of perks.

Cons: A very rigid environment, although highly depends on the department, group, team, and supervisor/team lead. There is nowhere to advance. Since the system is highly customized, it will take some years to learn and then one may advance to team lead. To become a manager takes longer, and mostly those positions are taken by people who have been with the company the longest. There is rarely team spirit, even though one is promoted. Each person is on his own. Bloomberg long ago became a big corporation in spirit, and it acts and feels like one.
