I knew I had failed the interview within the first minute after the interviewer called me. He called my cell phone using a Cisco desk phone in a meeting room. The sound was very noisy and distorted. As I am not a native English speaker, I wasn't able to understand more than 30% of what he was saying. Therefore, most of the time, I was focused more on deciphering his words than on solving the problem.
