I applied online and initially had a phone interview. As the company is only available between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, I had to take time off work. The interview involved a couple of easy technical questions over an hour, with some modifications made to the questions during the interview. Coding was conducted online through HackerRank.
Next, I attended an onsite interview that lasted four hours, starting at 10 AM. The first round was technical with two developers. The second round was also technical, with two different developers. The third round was with HR, and the fourth was with the Hiring Manager. The HR session focused on information about perks, culture, and so on. The Hiring Manager asked an algorithm question, showed me the terminal, and then asked behavioral questions.
The onsite interview went well, and I was confident I would receive an offer. However, HR contacted me saying they were looking for someone with C++ experience and offered me another role. I was confused as to why I was interviewed if that experience was going to deter me from receiving an offer, and I received no clear answer.
I then went onsite again for another interview. This involved two technical rounds. Everyone I met up to this point had been pleasant, except for the last interviewer. He was easily the rudest and most disrespectful interviewer I have ever encountered. He appeared disinterested from the start, seemed eager to leave as soon as he entered, did not ask for my resume, did not shake my hand, was condescending, and had no prepared questions. Needless to say, this round went terribly. He lost interest halfway through and essentially rushed out, without allowing me to ask any questions.
All in all, I wasted two vacation days and spent seven hours interviewing with eleven people. Apparently, one person's opinion holds more weight than ten others. I would advise against wasting your time unless you are certain it's a perfect fit.
