Process
First round was with HR, who were helpful and transparent around details including process, salary range, and job expectations.
Had a second-round technical screen for one hour. Started with questions around experience followed by a coding problem.
I found it challenging, but the interviewers were polite, helpful, and fair.
Unfortunately, I did not make it through to the virtual onsite, but the process was fair and appropriate to the role.

Pros: Snacks, location, colleagues, benefits, vacation time
Cons: Decreasing value year-over-year to my career. Developer management cares only about themselves and not their employees (I saw this in several groups). The company is overrun by suits trying to run software groups with too much influence on week-minded software developer managers. Heavy use of Fortran and proprietary tech. Spend more than a few years at this company and you will not be employable elsewhere.

Pros: Overall, I enjoyed working here. I never felt stressed out, compared to some of the other companies I've worked for before. This wasn't from a technological competence or challenging projects point of view, but more from a team culture point of view. I've never had any technical competence issues anywhere that I worked.
Ability to work in large-scale software systems and good job stability.
Cons: I have to spend four hours daily commuting to my job. Compared to many other technology companies, Bloomberg does not allow employees to work from home post-Covid. Employees, on average, spend 2 to 4 hours commuting daily.
