Initial phone screen with HR. Asked standard questions about my resume and the classic 'Why Bloomberg?' question.
The phone screen round consisted of a single interviewer. They asked a bit about my resume and work experience. I had 40-45 minutes to solve a single question (I verified with the interviewer how many questions he expected me to solve).
The question was a standard LeetCode hard problem, directly from LeetCode, tagged under Bloomberg. I solved it with a 1D DP (dynamic programming) approach. The remaining 10 minutes were for questions about the team. A week later, I received a rejection.
I read the LeetCode discussion section. Sometimes I think Bloomberg just screens international candidates without any concrete plan of sending them forward in the pipeline. It's super random to get through. I've heard of friends who haven't been able to do a BFS/DFS problem and have gone through to virtual onsite interviews. Do NOT apply to Bloomberg with the hopes that you'll get selected.
