Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - New York, New York

April 1, 2017
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The interview process involved an online application, a telephonic screen sharing tech interview, and onsite interviews.

After clearing the telephonic tech interview, I was invited for an onsite interview.

One day before the scheduled interview, I received an email from the recruiter stating that my interview was cancelled because the interviewers were out of the country. The recruiter then asked for new dates. This resulted in me wasting one of my holidays, as I had already requested time off from my current employer using a specific reason. The recruiter should have informed me earlier; it wasn't solely her fault, but the hiring process itself is flawed.

For the rescheduled date, the recruiter informed me that I would be interviewing for two teams and asked me to book the entire day. However, I ended up interviewing for only one team in the morning.

Once again, I wasted half of my vacation.

She did not clarify why my interview with the CIS team was cancelled for the second time.

Questions

Telephonic: Basic questions related to Python and some basic coding exercises to check the level of Python experience.
