Process

I applied online through the company's website. After applying, I received an email about a phone interview, which was scheduled to take about an hour. My task was to write algorithms online, with one of the developers watching me simultaneously and asking questions. However, from the beginning, even though I clearly stated I was applying for a Microsoft development role, they decided to process me for C++ development, which I did not want. After the phone interview started, I had to stop it after 10 minutes because they were simply wasting my time for a position I never wanted or applied for. The next day, they sent an email stating I had been unsuccessful, which actually sounded quite funny. So unprofessional.

Questions

I don't recall the questions exactly, but one of them was about binary sorting. The other one was: "How would you check if a string is actually a numeric value, without using internal functions that libraries provide, like Int32.TryParse(...), etc.?"
