Software Developer Interview Experience - New York, New York

Process

I applied to the position on Bloomberg's careers website and received a call from them shortly after. The first round was a telephonic interview, and I spoke to two developers who had been working there for 3-4 years.

The interview focused on C++ and basic data structures and algorithms. The questions were quite simple.

Unfortunately, I "messed up" that interview and did not answer very simple questions that were posed to me. It seemed they were looking for proficiency in C and C++. Browsing through standard interview questions available online would probably be the best way to prepare.

The interviewers seemed very nice and cordial. They mentioned that the successful employees at Bloomberg are those who are flexible, dynamic, and can get things done as quickly as possible, rather than those who plan very well.

Despite considering myself a very good programmer with relevant experience, I messed up the interview.
