Pros: + Great work-life balance. + Company/managers take good care of you. + Hard-to-get-fired environment. + Lots to learn as a fresher straight out of college, but run after a couple of years! + Great training programs and resources.

Cons: - Culture of maintaining the status quo. - No engineering enthusiasm; best effort engineering only. - Poor UI framework (RAPID!!). - No engineering hierarchy (no engineering level above Sr. Software Engineer!!). - No free lunch; a lot of the cafeteria snacks are not healthy.

Pros: - The office at 731 Lexington is very beautiful and easy to commute to. - The food pantry is always stocked; you will be very spoiled. - I'm a big fan of their trade floor seating style. It encourages openness and communication. - The training program for new hires is very good. You make many new friends. - Good benefits. Bloomberg was a great way to start my career right out of college. The company relocates you to NYC, which for me was the opportunity of a lifetime. I was given many responsibilities here and overall felt I was compensated fairly. They train you to be very productive, and that helps when looking for a new career.

Cons: The constant on-call duty can get stressful. You will get calls at 1 AM for seemingly minor issues. Upper management can be egotistical and bullies. Their solution is to scream at engineers until the problem is solved. The culture has a "big brother" feel. There are security guards everywhere, and you feel like you are being watched all the time. The software is very chaotic and poorly managed. You will constantly fight fires.

Pros: An open place to get work done.

Cons: A tenure-based leadership model allows for inefficiency.
