Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

This was a fairly lengthy process, and I did not finish. Good luck to all attempting this.

  • Phone Interview: General recruiter behavioral questions.
  • Technical Interview: Two questions, including some Python dictionary transformations.
  • On-site Interview R1: More dictionary transformations.
  • On-site Interview R2: The first part was a common interview question regarding dictionary transformations, and then, for some reason, the difficulty spiked (detailed below).

Somewhere in between, there was an HR interview where they explained the analyst program.

Questions

Clients send packets in a random order, and some packets may be lost. The receiver must organize the packets in order. Design both scenarios without bottlenecking the application.

Things to consider:

  • Packets coming too fast/slow
  • Lots of lost packets
  • Organizing packets
