I applied online, and HR reached out via email. Without any prior phone conversation with HR, I was directly sent an assignment and asked to complete it before my scheduled interview. I was also given specific instructions to finish the assignment one day before my phone screen so my interviewer could review the code.
The assignment was ridiculously long and took me the entire weekend to complete. I was supposed to build a simple trading app using any MVC framework.
For the phone screen, I had to solve two questions. I finished one, but I was unable to complete the second. When I asked the interviewer about the assignment, he said he hadn't reviewed it. The feedback I received was a generic rejection email.
After spending so much time on the interview process, candidates deserve relevant feedback. Overall, the process was very annoying and a complete waste of time. I will never apply again.
