There are multiple big internal conferences every year, hundreds of continuing education courses anyone can attend. It's quite simple to sign up for attending external conferences like CppCon as well.
Bloomberg gives away most of its revenue for philanthropy. You can also sign up for multiple various activities yourself, like planting trees or helping the homeless, etc.
The compensation is a bit lower compared to FAANG. There's also no tech lead career path for most senior engineers not wanting to become a manager.
