After submitting my application online, I was promptly invited to a HireVue interview, which consisted of two behavioral questions and a very simple coding challenge. Following this, I was scheduled for a video interview with the hiring manager.
However, on the morning of the interview, which was set for that afternoon, I received a rejection email. This left me questioning whether they had ever truly considered me for the position.
It seemed as though they may have already had a preferred candidate in mind, which is understandable, but the handling of the situation was disappointing. I felt my time and efforts were not respected.
With other interviews on the horizon, I could have better utilized the preparation time had they communicated their decision sooner. Nevertheless, this behavior lacks professionalism and demonstrates a lack of respect for candidates who invest time and effort in the application and interview process.
Tell me about yourself and why you would be a good fit for this job.
