It's a large company with decent benefits, employment under union contract. Max pay is decent. Plenty of overtime and double time.
The company is so big, it frequently trips over itself with procedure and excess waste. First-level management is underpaid, working mad hours with a fixed salary. As a result, management is extremely inexperienced to build airplanes. As a mechanic, we are constantly working out of sequence and playing catch-up on weekends. Plan on working as many weekends as you can. Now add in economic downturn and a constant fear of layoffs; the low person in seniority goes first.
Increase salary and hold a manager responsible for their poor decisions. There is no incentive for a senior mechanic with exceptional knowledge to step up to management. I've had 22 managers in the last 3 years. I'm not joking.
Quick. They ask some technical questions, like, "What is this symbol?" or "What is that symbol?" How would you troubleshoot X? The interviewer was not an expert, just reading the answers off her sheet. So know the textbook definitions, and be sure to
Once you applied, Boeing sent you back with a schedule for an interview. The interview questions were general overall. After the interview, they send an offer letter and ask to do a drug test. After you did the drug test and completed the background
This was for an entry-level role. STAR format, 5 questions. I was asked about experience and difficult/pressure situations. Besides the 5 STAR questions, a couple of yes/no questions were asked, e.g., "Have you ever used tool X?"
