The benefits are the best reason to work for the Boeing Company. The Boeing Company will pay for any college classes that you want to take for any degree that you want to pursue. They will also give you shares of stock for completing a degree with them.
Medical is paid in full by the company, along with dental. Vacation is a guaranteed 1 week a year, but the more hours that you work, the more time you can get to take off.
Pay is okay, but not up to par with the rest of the aerospace industry. They also have a recognition program that is good.
Long hours, treated unfairly, the union doesn't support you, and management has no clue what they are doing.
Depending on the program, you do or do not get support from management. The new program has a lot of downfalls that are because of management. Of course, they are blaming the mistakes on the union and the strike that happened in '08, but all in all, it was the business plan that screwed them, along with outsourcing portions of the build process to other countries and allowing them to retain the blueprints.
The need to get their heads out of their asses and look at the real picture.
This was for an entry-level role. STAR format, 5 questions. I was asked about experience and difficult/pressure situations. Besides the 5 STAR questions, a couple of yes/no questions were asked, e.g., "Have you ever used tool X?"
The interview process is quick and easy. It is mainly behavioral and about how well you fit in the team. The maximum time is an hour, and the average time for the interview is 30 minutes.
