Pros

Lots of opportunity to learn, grow your responsibilities, and network. The company is supportive of moving around. Tuition reimbursement is second to none. Generally friendly and helpful coworkers. Interesting technical problems to solve.

Cons

Pay is very lackluster compared to the cost of living. The promotion process is very political, vague, and intentionally obtuse. The company is completely bogged down in unnecessary red tape, bureaucracy, and redundant work. Roles and responsibilities are extremely broad and vague. It often feels like you're doing others' work for them. There's a lot of finger-pointing, deflecting, and blame-gaming. The company is extremely siloed with extremely little coordination between departments. It is very top-heavy with layers of unnecessary middle managers that contribute very little actual value.

Advice to Management

Do your jobs by actually working across departments to improve workflow and processes. Stop pushing management responsibilities onto engineers. Stop asking engineers to do anything and everything.
