Pros

Work is consistent, and you eventually learn the jobs quicker, as you'll be inspecting the same things on a routine basis. Always check your work instructions and any relevant engineering documents to validate workmanship and note if any changes have been made.

Cons

Manufacturing shops are typically last minute with plans, so anticipate overtime being required on a daily basis, including weekends.

Sometimes it's a decision made by upper leadership to hit critical milestones, or if they want to hit certain numbers.

Advice to Management

Rather than focus so much on how many planes we can push out on a monthly basis, focus on the existing problems that plague the floor and get those resolved. Otherwise, burnout and tension will rise amongst all parties.
