Some orgs give a lot of freedom to do what is needed.

In those orgs, you have a lot of ability to impact change on your team.

Cons

Corporate rot, waste, and bureaucracy.

Advice to Management

We need less middle management. Additionally, we need managers to be graded based on their impact, not their job description. It's not the fault of the managers; the higher-ups don't know what's going on below, but they set rules we all have to follow.
