Pros
  • Easy interview process
  • Very little accountability
  • Pockets of amazing, talented people
  • Lots of holiday pay
  • Looks good on a resume
Cons

Crippling bureaucracy means it's nearly impossible to make a real impact.

Management is fond of making short-term, cost-cutting decisions that make them look good, but are detrimental in the long term.

Lots of lazy and poor-performing employees are tolerated and even rewarded based on nothing more than seniority.

Advice to Management
  • Reduce red tape for change.
  • Implement merit-based rewards over seniority-based rewards.
  • Empower first-line managers to fire underperforming employees.
