Education... work there to retire, not to be an engineer. They pay for a lot as long as you work. If you are productive, your time is productive.
Sometimes boring... Sometimes seems like way too big of a corporation that's so worried about money. We "no bid" a project that would have been awesome to work on because there was risk to management.
I don't know about senior level, but mid-level and site guys do a pretty decent job. They at least try to know who you are and things about you.
They also do well to know what's going on and handle rumor control. So far, with upper level, they're doing okay in my opinion. They're keeping us informed of big decisions and keeping us informed on the industry and our status.
