Pros

Unionized engineering: once you've been there a while, you have some great job stability, great healthcare, and work-life balance.

Good 401k matching.

Cons
  • Raises are pretty crappy with new contracts. There's no incentive to work hard. You get nearly the same raise as everyone else.
  • Unionized engineering makes it hard to trim the fat on the company and keep it lean.
  • With the recent downturn, work is very boring. Nothing very exciting is going on at the company. If you are used to a fast-paced, exciting environment, you'll probably feel like you're rotting away here.
Advice to Management

Focus on schedule and cost has trumped engineering quality for too long. We need to fix that, and we need to make this an exciting place to work again, one where top talent feels like they should stay.
