They make Engineering Managers do system design and a full-on Sr+ level LeetCode-style coding interview. I thought this was strange.
Most companies only do system design. If they do have managers do a coding interview, it is generally much less demanding.
I don't remember the specific system design question, but it was pretty standard.
Questions
Given an NxN chessboard, calculate the minimum number of moves for a knight piece to get from position A,B to D,C.
