I was skeptical before joining, but after 1.5 years of experience, I see that Booking.com genuinely tries to do its best to improve the overall experience of employees. Employee experiences are measured through surveys/meetings constantly, and problems are discussed in company meetings.
It may not be the highest-paying company, but overall compensation is fair enough and satisfying.
Sometimes it's hard to prioritize the work you have to do, and creating the impact you want may take more than you expected. It's related to the size of the company in a way; I observe onboarding and kickstarting contributions for newcomers sometimes takes more time.
The interview itself was okay. There were two engineers; they were supportive and nice. However, I was ghosted after the first round of the tech interview. I wrote a few emails, but there was no response.
