Pros

There is a good culture, strongly promoted at Booking.com. Pay was a little below market average, but this was addressed, and it is now above. Being a big company means opportunities to move teams and grow.

Cons

The downside of any large company is the inevitable bureaucracy that comes with that. The promotion process is more rigorous than applying for the same job externally, etc. People can be moved between teams without consultation sometimes. Inevitably, it's a business, and unpopular decisions are occasionally made based on balance sheets.

Advice to Management

Talk more to people about being moved to a new team rather than present it as a done deal. The company culture is good, but culture also exists at a team level, and moving can be quite a shock.
