Interview was supposed to start at the top of the hour, but the interviewer didn't call me until 8 minutes later. Not a good start. Was asked a LeetCode-style question. However, the interviewer presented the question extremely poorly (not in a clear way at all), and despite me repeatedly asking for clarification and suggesting examples, I still received generally unhelpful responses which did little to clarify the scope/deliverables of the problem. To make matters worse, this interviewer was extremely awkward and clearly lacked basic communication skills. I then wrote pseudocode/steps to a proposed solution, to which the interviewer agreed. I proceeded to write the solution and nearly completed it when the interviewer stopped me, telling me this wasn't the solution they wanted, and then suggested that I do a brute force solution since we were running out of time. Um, excuse me? I was pretty shocked by the interviewer's complete lack of professionalism and just plain decency. Not a good experience.
