First, Brex has the most talented and kind people I've ever worked with. Being around such a fantastic team energizes me the most. I learn something each day just by being around them.
Second, Brex has an outstandingly strong management team, resulting in a cohesive and strong company strategy. Their leadership keeps teams around and happy, even though the company might change quite frequently.
Third, Brex has the best culture for remote employees. Not only does the company attract amazingly good people, but we are also really great at keeping them around. I feel as valuable as I was when I joined, even though the company doubled in size. Some examples of that:
Fourth and last, managers here are amazing. It is hard to say anything wrong about them, as everyone has been increasingly supportive of helping me achieve my career goals.
It's up to you to train yourself to disconnect from work. Because people work in different time zones, there's always something new to see. Therefore, you have to be mindful of your working hours.
A remote-first world is a bit lonely sometimes. You're always talking to your teammates on Zoom, which is something that not everyone might enjoy.
The company grows and moves very fast. This means reorgs are common and happen a couple of times per year. Over time, I would like to see this happen with a smaller frequency.
Keep up the good work! You are an inspiration to me and my team!
The interview process included several rounds: HR screening, a code challenge, a debugging challenge, system design, and a final alignment call. It was a very good assessment, apart from the multiple steps. All the interviewers were really nice and
It was an unstructured process. The cultural interview didn't cover culture. The whiteboard was led by an inexperienced engineer. It felt more like a chat than a real evaluation. They took two weeks to return and give generic feedback.
Two phases of coding tests on CodeSignal, followed by an interview to assess English level, and then a sequence of three interviews: one for debugging, another for coding, and a final one for values.
