Broadcom Work Experiences
3.0
Decent work-life balance, few learning opportunities
Software Engineer • Former Employee
December 16, 2014
Pros: Compensation is fair.
Well-respected company.
Work hours can potentially be flexible, depending on the team and work schedule. Usually only a few hours of budget room, but this allows employees to enjoy group sports on a weekly basis.
Cons: Team silos don't encourage collaboration or knowledge sharing.
There's not a lot of opportunity for self-development.
Passive-aggressive tendencies exist between some colleagues.
Once leadership has decided on a project, the course is set. Work on that project will continue whether or not it seems to be a good fit for the teams on the ground. Transparency on decision-making at this level could be improved, but that's one of the realities of an 11k+ organization.

Pros: WFH.
Shuttle transportation.
Nice premises.
A lot of parking allocation.
Convenient location.
Cons: Company left the country, so I am currently unemployed.
Thus, not a lot of growth.
My run was not that long, though.
