Broadcom benefits from having a great collection of skilled engineers, with very little dead weight. This means that you find yourself working with talented people, who for the most part are enjoying their own work.
It pays well, offers good benefits, and while it doesn't always succeed, it certainly tries to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Additionally, I find Broadcom to be a very much empowered company, where I certainly spend my time working constructively on the job I was hired to do, and don't find myself in endless meetings, or held up with endless and unnecessary bureaucracy.
