A lot depends on where the location of work is. The USA is a much better place to work for Broadcom. In Europe, it is mostly good for Braggarts, Programme Managers, and people on the management ladder. To put it straight, it is mostly those people who don't write a single line of code; so, not a place for engineers.
For good engineering work, it's better to look at the US. Here, I can see five managers talking on the phone about one trivial issue, and only one engineer working on it. That is how skewed the ratio of work is here.
Some of these managers are blinded and cannot see or have no sense of any engineering work. They want to retire without doing anything.
