RSUs are the only reason someone would put up with the mind games and mental stress.
You are a number, an operating expense to this company.
Constant internal chaos, at least on the sales side. They do not care about the value you bring to them and the customers at all.
Internal systems are archaic by modern IT standards. A $50B+ company using the Google Workspace suite for employee productivity? The reason is because Google does a lot of AI GPU business with BDCOM.
Internal and external websites that look and feel like they were developed during the dawn of the Internet in the 90s?
Customers now HATE you because of the changes to price and packaging of VMW products. They do not care that sales is all about relationships. This is pure blackmail and they know it. Customers cannot migrate away from VMW products overnight.
In my role in Technical Sales, I closed a $20+M deal the day before I was let go in July 2024. That's how I was thanked by my management for my revenue contribution.
You have been warned.
It seemed like most of the bad management from VMW was allowed to hang around. The good ones were either pushed out or left on their own.
With all of the internal chaos, changes, and stress, Hock Tan, the highest-paid CEO by compensation according to WSJ, should at least give out free coffee during his "Coffee Talks." Lol.
I say this because he made a point during his first talk with former VMW employees that it's a coffee talk, but he will not pay for your coffee; "bring your own."
On the SW side of the company, the managers are just pawns and are told what to do and when to do it. The management layer had been flattened, so they are all worried about their jobs and vesting their RSUs, admit it!
I was contacted by the director of the team, for which I responded. Then there was no follow-up for a month. When I texted back, I got a call, and a telephonic interview was scheduled to be taken by an engineer on his team for a vague time the same
After an initial phone screen interview, this was followed by an on-site interview. I thought the interview was impersonal and purely technical. Each interviewer asked technical questions immediately, without any discussion of the position or their
The interview process will consist of two technical rounds focused on assessing skills and problem-solving abilities, followed by one managerial round and one HR discussion to thoroughly finalize the overall fit.
