Overly aggressive project schedules. So aggressive that the balance between work and home life is frequently not in balance. 10-hour work days and weekends are common, topped off by constantly being told by management that you are not meeting deadlines; deadlines created by management that were known to be unreasonable in the first place.
Also, when you have an entire team of engineers recommending solutions to serious problems, and those recommendations are frequently dismissed and ignored by management, you know you have a serious management problem.
Broadcom is an engineering company. Listen to your engineers. Get rid of the management "yes men." Don't overpromise and under-deliver.
