Engineer Interview Experience - United States

Process

Call with tech recruiter, then call with hiring manager.

First call was informational, described company, a bit about the role, etc. Second call with hiring manager dug into questions about biggest project worked on, most difficult coworker, etc.

The tone of the first call went well; it was all even-keel. The one with the hiring manager, the interviewer seemed very disinterested even though I was definitely interested in the product, etc. At one point, the interviewer yawned.

After getting the rejection notice after the second round, I asked for some specific feedback. They responded they couldn't give any.

They don't have to give feedback, but it is a professional courtesy. Constructive feedback helps candidates improve, especially in difficult COVID-19 times.

I also read other reviews talking about the management mentioning a lot of issues. They were very insightful. I'm glad some people are honest here because some reviews definitely feel planted. It's hard to tell which are real.

I love the product and believe in meditation, but my interview experience was mediocre.
