Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - United States

Process

Had a coding session where they did not do LeetCode. Instead, it was a series of 5 questions about data transformation from a JSON API that was more suited to SQL.

Anyway, I completed 4 of the 5 questions and by the end, it gets tedious. I explained how I would finish it. The questions are not difficult, but given so many in a 45-minute time, it gets really tedious. The data set was also large.

Interviewer wanted to end the interview, so she cut off my coding about 5 minutes before the end. She seemed pretty stressed for working at Calm. I got an instant reject email right after the interview. I've never had that before; usually, they take a few days.

Anyway, I think it was obvious from solving 4 of the 5 successfully that I was going to finish the 5th in a short matter of time, but I don't think she really cared about it, to be honest.

Anyway, reading other reviews here seems like a bad culture there. You would think otherwise, but...
